Here are some interesting statistics compiled by the good folks at NHTSA.  We've asked them to pull data from 1990 - 2007 on the following ... you will need Adobe Acrobat to view the "Fatal Crashes and Fatalities" document

"FATAL CRASHES AND FATALITIES IN MOTOR VEHICLE TRAFFIC CRASHES
WHERE FIRST HARMFUL EVENT WAS COLLISION WITH PARKED MOTOR VEHICLE (NOT IN TRANSPORT)"  Note the number that represents the LOSS of LIFE in the Fatalities Column

Here is the supporting documentation  to define terms used in the "Fatal Crash" document.

Insurance Agencies... Let us show you how we can ENHANCE your ongoing safety initiatives and provide your preferred customers with a valuable safety device that will keep their family & property safe while traveling!

The National Highway Transportation Safety Administration has provided NexTTyme LLC with the following statistics.

From 1990- 2006, an average of 400 fatal crashes and over 450 FATALITIES per YEAR are caused by disabled or parked vehicles on our roadsides!

Why must we wait for the next person to be KILLED?

The NEXT person may be someone you KNEW!

"Introducing the "RoadSide Flag "AlertUs"

No one likes the idea of being stuck on the side of the road with a disabled vehicle.....especially at night!

Instead of looking into the crowded trunk of your vehicle for something bright in color to hang on your door OR cram into the window of your car.... why not reach for the RoadSide Flag "AlertUs" to alert other motorists of your Disabled OR Parked Vehicle.

This is common practice that most people do today anyway!

We are not inventing a new process, but perhaps taking the process in which we follow today and creating a more safe method!

Safety plays a major role when displaying your vehicle as being disabled.  The RoadSide Flag "AlertUs" is constructed with tough nylon material to withstand most weather conditions.

Description:

"AlertUs" has a 4X12 inch REFLECTIVE strip sewn into the fabric to enable oncoming travelers to easily see your disabled vehicle up to 1500 meters (1 MILE) away at night to avoid accidents.

It consists of
3M Scotchlite Reflective Material - 8910 Silver Fabric is composed of wide angle, exposed retroreflective lenses bonded to a durable cloth backing (65% polyester 35% cotton).

The reflective fabric is the same fabric used on the uniforms of the Fire, Police Departments and DOT workers.

Physical Performance:

3M – 8910 silver fabric is certified to meet ANSI/ISEA 107-1999 level 2 retroreflective performance and EN 471 Class 2.

 Care and Maintenance:
·        Machine Wash
·        Only non-chlorine bleach when needed
·        Tumble dry low
·        Medium iron
·        Dry-clean, normal cycle

What Do Traffic Crashes Cost?

Who pays for the cleanup after an accident?

More than likely...taxpayers foot the bill because taxes pay for the state or county roadway departments that are responsible for the cleanup!

Here is a document by NHTSA showing Total Costs to Employers in relation to employees involved in vehicle accidents!

Best Practices for most States... (vehicle safety)

Taillights:

Vehicles
and motorcycles must have at least one red light mounted on the rear.

All other motor vehicles, trailers, and semi-trailers must have at
least two red lights mounted on the left and right rear.

These
taillights must be visible at least 500 feet to the rear.... whereas the AlertUs Flag (3M Reflective Fabric Strip) will illuminate up to 1500 meters (1 MILE)!!
